CELEBRATED gospel musician Agatha Murudzwa has engaged veteran gospel muso,Mechanic Manyeruke to feature on her forthcoming eight-track album, Hold On.
The album, which is due for release next month, is nearing completion and is being recorded at Diamond Studios.
Murudzwa, who last performed in Mutare in August last year, said she was taking her time to come up with a polished project that would contain uplifting and soulful tracks of all gospel lovers.
She said partnering Manyeruke would be a dream come true and would make the album special considering his vast experience in the music industry and as one of the country’s gospel pioneers.
“I engaged him and he said there was no problem with it. We are now sorting out some logistics so that he would feature on the song titled Ndivanani avo. Besides that song, all the tracks are ready and we are happy that we are nearing completion of the much-awaited album,” she said.
Other tracks on the album are Huyai, Ziva Nguva, Rock of Ages, Anofamba Nesu, Makanaka Mwari and Matidaira.
She added that her songs were inspired by her personal life, experiences, hurdles, trials and tribulations.
“Some of the songs are inspired by personal experiences as well as life’s day-to-day relationship with God. I also urge people to pin their hopes on God in all circumstances and be thankful to what God gives us. In terms of instrumentation, we have not changed much and we are looking forward to spread the message to all of my fans across the country,” she said.
Murudzwa, who is now Mai Mufundisi after she married Methodist Revival Church pastor Gwinyai Ndembera, relocated to Harare two years ago and started a new life away from Dangamvura high-density suburb where she grew up.
The musician boasts of several albums such as Fambai neni, Ngatitye Mwari, Mwari anotiona, Hupenyu Mwari and Press On.
