Museveni tells Mali military leader to hand back power

speaking at the opening of the on-going Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly here said people should always determine their destination and not any other person.
“I totally associate myself with the comments of your president (IPU President) about the coup in Mali, those young fellows should go back to the barracks and let the people decide their future,” he said.
IPU President Abdelwahad Radi told the over 2 000 delegates from the over 150 member state organisation that Mali had been suspended from the organisation following the coup
He said the delegates would discuss the situation in the West African country. Malian troops toppled President Amadou Toumani Toure on 22 March.
The Africa Union, a continental body bringing together 54 African countries was the first to suspend the West African country after the coup.
The IPU conference which started on Saturday will discuss the political, economic and social situation in the world under the theme “Parliaments and people: bridging the gap.” — Xinhua.
