THE Mutare-born duo of strikers Nyasha Chintuli and Anelka Chivandire were on target to help Ngezi Platinum Stars overpower Herentals 3-0 in a Castle Lager Premiership match played at Baobab Stadium this afternoon.

The pair’s strikes either side of the break sandwiched in-form attacker Bruno Mtigo’s goal to help Madamburo maintain their perfect start to the season.

Chintuli opened the account with a deft finish in the fifth minute before his fellow La Sakubva graduand Chivandire added to the tally with a powerful header in the 75th minute to secure the convincing victory.

The win saw title hopefuls Ngezi Platinum Stars bounce back in style from last week’s Chibuku Super Cup final defeat to FC Platinum Stars.

Madamburo coach Rodwell Dhlakama hailed his charges for the impressive performance.

“It is a massive response from the boys, especially given that that we lost to FC Platinum in the final last week. We were psychologically and physically well prepared today and we could have done better and scored more goals.

“With that good performance we could have wrapped up the game in the first half but we came back stronger in the second half and scored two more goals, which was nice. What is important is that we got the three points and we hope to build on that going forward,” said Dhlakama.
