TWO Zanu-PF heavyweights, named as kingpins in a plot to assassinate President Mugabe, have been ill after being rejected by the people ahead of the party’s National People’s Congress that begins in Harare today.

Embattled Zanu-PF Secretary for Administration Cde Didymus reportedly went to South Africa last Thursday for medical treatment on high blood pressure. “He went immediately after the presentation of the National Budget. But I believe he is now back in the country. I am not sure about how he is feeling now,” said a source.

Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Minister Nicholas Goche was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit at a local hospital last Tuesday.

Doctors refused to disclose his ailment but it is understood that the Minister was suffering from hypertension.

His condition could not be ascertained yesterday. Minister Goche missed last week’s Politburo meeting together with Vice President Joice Mujuru, who was also reportedly under the weather last Wednesday before surfacing for the presentation of the 2015 National Budget the following day. The three were named as honchos in the plot to assassinate President Mugabe. A member of the same faction, Cde Flora Buka, was also reported to have collapsed in Nembudziya after losing in the Central Committee elections held at Mutora Growth Point last week.
