Mutasa plots FC Platinum Champs League downfall

replaced at DeMbare by his former lieutenant Callisto Pasuwa, is tipped to take over from Francis Banda at the Swazi team on a temporary basis.
The former Dynamos and Tanganda midfielder left on Friday for Swaziland.
According to media reports from Swaziland yesterday, Mutasa travelled with Green Mamba to Mozambique were he watched them beat Maxaqueune 2-0 during an international friendly in Maputo on Sunday.
Yesterday, Mutasa was set to be unveiled as the new coach and will help former gaffer Banda who has been reassigned as technical director.
Mutasa, who is employed by the Zimbabwe Prison Services, is set to help the Green Mamba who are also under the correctional services department.
The Times of Swazi said its sources had revealed that Mutasa has been primarily roped in to assist in the African safari.
“The new coach is here and Banda will be the technical director.
“An announcement will be made very soon, but management are being careful in the manner they handle the matter to avoid unnecessary commotion during this weekend’s clash against FC Platinum,” the sources said.
Green Mamba PRO, Vusi Kunene, said Mutasa was only around for the Caf Champions League games and will leave thereafter.
“The official position now is that he will be here as long as we are in the Caf Champions League,” Kunene said.
Mutasa said he was happy to be part of the squad and was quick to praise skipper Siyabonga Mdluli.
“The team is good and from their performance today they have shown a lot of potential.
“They have the chance to beat Platinum who are currently on the off-season,” Mutasa told the Times of Swazi.
Banda’s future has always been under scrutiny since January last year, and in October, he was sacked before being recalled by Correctional Services Commissioner, Mzuthini Ntshangase.
Upon his return he led them to the Fixedfone Cup, to add to the league title he won in May last year.
Mutasa was in Swaziland in October last year where he agreed terms with the club.
At Green Mamba, Mutasa will link up with former Dynamos goalkeeper Zondai Nyaungwa.
He joins former Monomotapa coach Rodwell Dhlakama who is at Manzini Sundowns.
