OUR own Mount Sinai is Mutemwa Mountain, a holy shrine in Mutoko. It is a walking distance from Munashe Private High School.
Pastors and congregants from various denominations meet at the summit of the mountain, which is well-known for miraculous healing.
They come in large numbers from far and wide to make their prayers. They congregate here during the day and at night.
Some travel on foot and others by bus or car.
The place was a hive of activity a week before the onset of public examinations, especially with O and A Level candidates, as they did not want to leave anything to chance.
Different uniforms decorated the mountain. Teachers and learners prayed for calm during the examinations. Every learner wants to produce good results. Parents and teachers want candidates to pass. However, disturbances such as hysteria can affect learners during examination periods. Prayers are, thus, conducted to avert such situations.
Munashe Private High School learners and their teachers were no exception. On September 18, O and A Level candidates, led by staff, spent the whole day up the mountain, praying to the Lord for a smooth examination period.
We pray for salvation and prosperity. Our objective is to get it right the first time.
Mutemwa Mountain and its spiritual powers are linked to one prayer warrior by the name John Randal Bradburne, whose life history is linked to the holy mountain.
