FORMER Highlanders’ striker Knox Mutizwa has welcomed Prince Dube to the Absa Premiership and wished his former striking partner at Bosso the best of luck.
Dube signed a four-year deal with Pretoria-based side SuperSport in a closely guarded financial arrangement and became the third Zimbabwean player to cross the Limpopo River ahead of the 2017/18 South Africa season after Chicken Inn’s talented defender Teenage Hadebe and FC Platinum’s livewire Talent Chawapiwa.
Hadebe penned a three-year deal with Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs, while Chawapiwa was snapped up by Baroka FC after impressive performances in the 2017 Cosafa Castle Cup finals held in South Africa.
Mutizwa, who returned to Golden Arrows for a second season on loan from Bidvets Wits, took to his Facebook account to welcome the talented forward to the Mzansi league.
“Prince Mgadafi Dube, boy welcome to the big league son . . . congrats and good luck,” posted Mutizwa.
The two former Highlanders strikers will now be in opposite camps when the Absa Premiership season kicks off next month.
Dube has already joined his teammates for a pre-season camp under the tutelage of South African football legend Erick Tinkler, who is being assisted by Warriors’ legend Kaitano Tembo.
