Mutoko hosts International Day of Rural Women

Zimbabwe will commemorate the International Day of Rural Women in Mutoko on Friday to draw attention to the difficulties

that rural women and girls face due to the high cost of living, Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises

Development Minister Monica Mutsvangwa has said.

The commemorations will be held at Chiutsi Secondary School in Chiutsi Village, Mutoko.

It will be running under the theme ‘Rural Women Confront the Global Cost of Living.’

“This year’s theme is about the challenges related to the cost of living that rural women continue to face in their communities,”

she said.

“It is a day that has been set aside to reflect on the contributions that women in rural areas make to their families,

communities, and the country as a whole. This includes their participation in political and socio-economic activities.”
