BLACK Rhinos chairman Edward Mutukwa is one of the candidates who are in the race for board members in the ZIFA executive committee.
The elections are set for January.
Mutukwa, who filed his papers on Monday, has a rich history in football administration, spanning to more than 20 years.
He has worked through the ladder of the army teams from Buffaloes to Black Rhinos.
Mutukwa, a colonel in the army, has also played a pivotal role in the development of football through sponsoring junior football structures.
He has been sponsoring junior football development in his rural home of Chiweshe where he has established an academy.
A holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, a Master of Science degree in Big Data Analytics, Master of Science degree in International studies, he is currently pursuing doctorate in economics at the University of Zimbabwe.
“Yes, I am up for election as I submitted my nomination on Monday.
“I am looking forward to the process as I believe my experience can now be channelled in another new role for the betterment of football in the country,” he said.
