PREMIERSHIP newcomers, MWOS will be out to avoid defeat and reclaim pole position in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League when they host Manica Diamonds at Ngoni Stadium in Norton this afternoon.
Unbeaten MWOS dropped to second place yesterday as champions, Simba Bhora beat newcomers Kwekwe United 2-1 at Bata Stadium to join the leaders on 18 points.
Simba Bhora and MWOS have 18 points each and also have a similar goal difference of plus six but the champions have scored more goals.
MWOS have been impressive so far in their maiden campaign and have conceded just one goal in eight matches and will be at Ngoni Stadium for the second time this season.
The stadium was officially re-opened when MWOS hosted Dynamos on Easter Monday after undergoing renovations to meet the minimum requirements set by Zifa, through the First Instance Board.
Manica Diamonds will be out to become the first team to stop MWOS from winning at home this season and also become the first team to beat Lloyd Mutasa’s side.
