‘My hands are clean’

The Zanu-PF Politburo this week announced that Cde Matuke would appear before a disciplinary hearing over his alleged role in the Bikita West saga where ex-Reserve Bank Governor Dr Gideon Gono’s advisor Dr Munyaradzi Kereke ended up contesting party primary elections in the constituency after his                                                   disqualification.

Dr Kereke had been barred by the party from contesting primary elections in Bikita West but went on to contest and filed papers at the nomination court as the Zanu-PF parliamentary candidate together with Cde Elias Musakwa who was given the nod by Zanu-PF. He was this week expelled from Zanu-PF for the  defiance.

Cde Matuke said he fully respected the decision by the Politburo to summon him to appear before a disciplinary hearing but insisted that his hands were clean. “ . . . I wish to state clearly that I fully respect the decision that was taken by my party. I will abide by it because my hands are clean,’’ he said.
