The committee has been tasked to raise at least $500 000 for the expedition in Luanda. Zimbabwe will face the Negras Palancas on the weekend of October 12-14.
The Warriors will travel for the final leg qualifier carrying a seemingly healthy 3-1 lead secured from the first leg at Rufaro on 9 September.
On Monday, Mbada Diamonds sunk in $200 000 into the coffers while Zifa president Cuthbert Dube gave $10 000 as seed capital.
Chairperson of the Mzansi90 committee George Manyanya on Monday said they had also received pledges from some companies.
“The Mzansi90 team is for Zimbabwe and we are just the figureheads put there to raise the funds for the Angola game and we just want the Zimbabweans to know that we now we have some funds.
“We have had meetings and promises and everywhere in Zimbabwe and the corporate sector in Zimbabwe understands the need for this big support for the Warriors.
“We have had promises and I hope by the end of the week, all Zimbabweans will be smiling and the guys will be motivated. As of today we can say that E-Sport, who are suppliers of the kit that they are using right now, have said they will donate all the kits,” said Manyanya.
Manyanya also revealed that Led Car Rentals have pledged to provide a courtesy car for use by the team while Goldtech Electronics undertook to provide gadgets that could either be auctioned or raffled.
He said the committee was also hoping to host a dinner dance as part of the fundraising scheme while some retail outlets have agreed to set up cash boxes in their shops where individuals could donate whatever amount they have.
The Mzansi90 committee also said they have launched a massive marketing campaign to mobilise the funds.
The committee said they have negotiated for a charter flight while Zifa board member Elliot Kasu said they have opened three bank accounts where corporates and individuals can deposit money.
Spokesperson of the committee, Hugo Ribatika, said the money in their coffers does not take into account the pledges that have been made.
