NAAZ executive members retain posts

MOST of the National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe executive members retained their posts during the elective annual general meeting held on Saturday in Gweru.
The association’s president Tendayi Tagara, second vice-president Siphatisiwe Machaya and Enock Ngwenya (treasurer) bounced back unopposed.
Cynthia Phiri also retained her post as secretary-general after she beat challenger Precious Tarakino by 16 votes to five.
Initially, there were four contestants for the post. But the duo of William Chuwa and Russel Chimhare withdrew from the race.
Tagara, Machaya, Ngwenya and Phiri were part of the previous executive.
They were joined by Walter Zimusi, who comes in as the new first vice-president.
Zimusi beat Enias Nhoro and Njere Shumba, after getting 13 votes during the elections.
Nhoro and Shumba got five and three votes respectively.
