ZIMBABWE international midfielder Marvelous Nakamba remains a darling of his English Premiership football club Aston Villa’s faithful after the fans spoke against selling him.

There has been reported interest in the Warriors star from Villa’s rivals Everton and Crystal Palace and the club is understood to be keen to retain Nakamba’s services following commanding displays last season.

The 27-year-old enjoyed a run in the starting XI, helping his side secure important victories against Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United to consolidated his holding midfielder role in the team.

During this term’s pre-season friendly matches he featured in against Walsall and Stoke City, the former Bantu Rovers player has put up solid performances.

With his influence growing, the Villa Park multitude took to their Facebook page and the BirminghamLive comments section to urge the club to hold onto Nakamba, whose game is vastly improving.

Said one Northside: “Settled down well last season, I believe he has got the shirt at the start of next season. No way would I sell him.”
