NICOLE ‘Queen’ Mafico says she is the face and voice of her people following the release of her album dubbed Reflection.

Nicole, who claims to be next in line in Ndau Royal Family, said she is not only pursuing her passion for music but also preparing for her future role as a queen.

She is set to be ordained to the throne once she marries.

Nicole said her album is an expression of her journey and homage to the music that resonates with the Ndau people.

She also lamented the existence of rivalries and tensions among female artists in the industry but remained optimistic about fostering unity and collaboration.

“Music has always been my passion and I’m grateful that my family has supported me in pursuing it.

“I am determined to honour my heritage and fulfil my responsibilities as a queen.

“However, I firmly believe that music allows me to connect with my people on a deeper level and share their stories with the world.

“The industry can be tough, especially for a young woman.”

She added:

“There have been instances of beef and conflicts among female artists, which I find disheartening.

“I believe in supporting and uplifting one another and I hope to encourage more solidarity among women in the industry.”
