NDIRAYA UNHAPPY WITH TIGHT FIXTURE SCHEDULE

TONDERAI “Stanza” Ndiraya is not happy with the “punishing” schedule of fixtures which he blames for his team’s loss to Bikita Minerals in a Castle Lager Premiership match at Sakubva yesterday.

Simba Bhora played against Manica Diamonds in Murambinda in Buhera last Wednesday before they travelled to Bulawayo for a league fixture on Sunday.

They were then back on the road for yesterday’s encounter against Bikita Minerals.

“This is the reason why we initially asked for a postponement of this encounter,” he said.

“However, we just have to soldier on and fight hard as we move on to ensure we get the results we want in upcoming matches.”

Yesterday’s match was largely a balanced affair even though the home team had an upper hand in the second half.

Both teams were guilty of missing clear-cut scoring opportunities from the first whistle.

Bikita Minerals skipper, Barnabas Mtuche, scored the goal which propelled his team to victory just a minute before the break.

A spirited effort by Simba Bhora to try and restore parity were in vain.

“I think we played well and got the three points we badly needed,” said Bikita Minerals coach, Saul Chaminuka.

“This was an entertaining game of football and both teams gave the fans something to cheer their souls through entertaining football.

“I am happy with the performance of my team.”
