THE Zimbabwe Republic Police has confirmed the arrest of Kudzanayi Tapiwa Mukura following the gruesome murder of a 10-year-old boy in Eastview Phase 14, Harare, on Saturday morning.
The suspect, who is a neighbour to the victim’s family, was reportedly left to care for the child while the boy’s mother travelled to Goromonzi on Friday to attend a memorial service.
Shockingly, instead of watching over the child, Mukura allegedly turned predator and stabbed the young boy once in the chest before mutilating his private parts in what police have described as a brutal and disturbing attack.
Police are yet to establish the motive behind the killing, which has left residents of the quiet Eastview community shaken and calling for justice.
“The suspect has been arrested, and investigations are underway. More details will be released in due course,” read a police statement on X.
