Nekati inducted as Lions Club of Khumalo president

BULAWAYO Real Estate managing director,  Michael Nekati has been inducted as the new Lions Club of Khumalo president.

Lions Club is an international charity organisation, which serves and takes care of the world wide underprivileged people, including the disabled, orphans, homeless and elderly.

Nekati, who also sits on various professional boards and organisations, will serve an effective one year term, which began on 1 July this year.

His induction ceremony was held at a colourful ceremony held at the Bulawayo Club a few weeks ago.

Nekati told Sunday Life in an interview that he was pleased and humbled to have been elected to lead the club.

“I have managed to secure sponsorship for some of our projects from five companies. The companies have pledged to sponsor $20 every month towards the Lions Club of Khumalo Charity Fund.

‘Our projects are aimed at assisting the less privileged people of society, where we as a club assist in terms of food and identifying and sponsoring projects,” he said.

To become a member one has to attend three consecutive meetings and are then invited and inducted into the system.
