NETONE, one of Zimbabwe’s leading telecommunications companies, has partnered with the Nyanga North Community for Health Campaign Initiative in Manicaland Province as part of its commitment to improving healthcare access and quality for all Zimbabweans, as envisioned in the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS 1).

Speaking at the event where the company donated essential hospital and clinic equipment to the Nyanga North community, NetOne’s group chief executive officer Engineer Raphael Mushanawani said they were complementing the government’s efforts to work towards a more prosperous, inclusive, and healthy Zimbabwe.

The donation consisted of essential medical equipment, including blood pressure machines, sugar testing kits, wheelchairs, hospital bed sheets, baby scales, and specialized lotions for people with albinism.

“Our partnership with the Nyanga North community marks a pivotal moment in our journey towards improving healthcare access and quality for all Zimbabweans. Under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, and the framework of the National Development Strategy1 (NDS1) and Vision 2030, we are making strides towards a more prosperous, inclusive, and healthy Zimbabwe,” said Eng Mushanawani.

He said the contributions were lifelines that will not only enhance the capabilities of the country’s healthcare providers but also improve the lives of countless individuals.

“This initiative embodies our commitment to leaving no one and no place behind in our pursuit of sustainable development and national progress,” he said.

Eng Mushanawani said in the spirit of Vision 2030, which aspires to a prosperous and empowered upper-middle-income society, the company recognizes that robust healthcare systems are fundamental to achieving this goal.

“Health is a cornerstone of development, and by supporting the health infrastructure in Nyanga North, we are investing in the well-being and future of our nation.

“We believe connectivity should translate into tangible improvements in the quality of life for every Zimbabwean, ensuring all areas within our network benefit from our services and support,” he said.

He adds: “To the healthcare workers in Nyanga North, your dedication and service are the backbone of this initiative. We are honoured to support your efforts and work alongside you in improving healthcare outcomes.

“Your commitment inspires us, and we are here to ensure you have the necessary resources to continue your invaluable work.

“By equipping healthcare facilities with modern tools and resources, we are empowering healthcare professionals to provide better care, fostering healthier and more resilient communities.”

He said NetOne is committed to the principles of inclusion, equitable development, and building a healthier, stronger, and more prosperous Zimbabwe.
