Sungura maestro Alick “Baba Shero” Macheso has revealed that he will be launching his much anticipated 13th album on 2 August at Alex Sports Club in Harare at a show expected to be a full house.

The legend also spiced up the show by inviting youthful artistes from different genres that are not part of the Sungura stream.

The young artistes who will feature at the show include the current woman of the moment in the Zimbabwean music scene Feli Nandi, Hip Hop superstar Saintfloew, Enzo Ishall, Andy Muridzo, Chill Spot and Macheso’s sons the Cheso Boys.

Macheso’s publicist, Tichaona Makahamadze, said everything was on course for the show to run smoothly.

He said that Macheso’s upcoming album will be mature like always.

“We have done all the necessary work to ensure that the album launch lives up to expectations. The album is ready and we are just waiting to unveil it to the fans. We can’t postpone it further because our fans have been waiting for the product,” said Makahamadze.

With Macheso’s sons also in the mix of performers with other young creatives, the music guru has been hailed as a father figure and a mentor who takes pride in giving young ones a platform to shine.

“The boys (Esau and Tatenda) have been doing well and we are happy that they are making real progress. We are going to rope them in at the album launch as our supporting acts. We also have young talented musicians like Saintfloew who will take to the stage.

“Macheso is a Sungura legend but if you look at the lineup we brought in talents from other genres because we want the event to be big,” said Makahamadze.
