PASTORS from different denominations, who had enrolled for spiritual training with the Zimbabwe Christian Ministers Association (ZCMA), on Friday graduated with diplomas and certificates at a colourful ceremony in Harare.
Speaking at the event, ZCMA president and guest of honor, Bishop Christopher Choto, said pastors play a pivotal role in the moral transformation in the society.
“Now that you have graduated, the work of shepherding people has started, do not relax,” he said.
Bishop Choto said pastors should also be equipped with knowledge to curb mental health illnesses at church.
“Pastoring is not all about casting out demons, we need to have mental health skills in order to curb the growing scourge,” Bishop Choto said.
Speaking at the same event, ZCMA pastors trainer, Pastor Cecilia Sigauke said:
“It is very important for pastors to have skills and knowledge on premarital counselling as it helps people before they commit to each other as it involves compatible tests.
“We test and compare if two people are compatible so as to avoid unnecessary divorce.”
