NEW: 22-year-old man stabs brother to death

Police in Mashonaland Central have arrested a man who fatally stabbed his elder brother after a misunderstanding.

Nyasha Chikanyiwa (32) died at Mt Darwin hospital upon admission.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed the arrest of the suspect.

“Police in Mt Darwin arrested Godknows Chikanyiwa (22) for a case of murder which occurred at Chikanyiwa Village, Dotito on 13th of March at about 2100 hours.

“The suspect stabbed his brother, Nyasha Chikanyiwa (32) twice on the stomach and wrist with a kitchen knife after a misunderstanding.

“The victim was referred to Mt Darwin hospital where he died upon admission.”
