NEW: Air Force of Zimbabwe pilot dies in plane crash

THE Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) has announced the death of an Air Force of Zimbabwe pilot, Air Lieutenant Nesbert Tambudza.

Air Lieutenant Tambudza died Thursday afternoon after the Karakorum-8 (K-8) jet trainer aircraft that he was flying crashed in the Guinea Fowl area in Gweru.

In a statement, ZDF said the accident happened when the pilot was on a solo consolidation general handling navigation training.
