Online Reporter

National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe (NAAZ) president Tendayi Tagara says he is happy with preparations for the National Championships to be held at White City Stadium in Bulawayo on Saturday.

The championships will be used to select athletes that will represent Zimbabwe at the upcoming World Junior Championships, World Senior Championships and the Africa Senior Championships.

“There will be 54 races on the cards, with all the country’s provinces converging in Bulawayo for the selection,” said Tagara.

“This competition also serves as the final competition to select athletes for major competitions on the international arena like the World Junior Championships, World Senior Championships and the Africa Senior Championships.

“We are also using it as a final selection for the Region Five Games that will be held in Malawi later in the year (December).”
