NEW: All set for Uhuru celebrations

ALL is now set for the 44th Independence Day celebrations to be held in Manicaland province on Thursday, with the First Family expected to host the Children’s Party on Wednesday.

Addressing Tuesday’s post-Cabinet briefing, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Dr Jenfan Muswere said:

“Preparations for the Independence anniversary celebrations and the Children’s Party are at an advanced stage.

“The following construction works have been completed like the main arena, terraces for the football pitch, the changing rooms, ablution facilities, the classroom blocks at Murambinda A and B primary schools and Murambinda B Secondary School, and painting of the buildings at the three schools.”

Added Minister Muswere:

“The Children’s Party will be held on April 17, 2024 at Murambinda A Primary School, with a total of 3 050 learners participating at the event.

“His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the First Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa will host the child delegates from the provinces.”
