NEW: Angola’s GDP forecast to grow 2,4pc in 2022

ANGOLA expects a growth of 2,4 percent for the gross domestic product (GDP) in 2022, an official has announced.

The country’s Minister of State for Economic and Social Development, Manuel Nunes Junior, made the announcement while speaking at the inauguration of the Roadmap for the Reform of the Public Business Sector of the Southern African country.

“Our forecasts stem from growth in the oil and gas sectors, at 1,3 percent, and in the non-oil sector, at 3,1 percent,” he said.

He added that the roadmap will be implemented in four years, during which Angola will work to make the private sector strong, efficient, competitive and capable of creating value for its shareholders.

“The roadmap for the reform was approved last January, and aims to accelerate the reforms to be introduced in our public business sector so as to be possible to increase the gains of the privatisation program that has been underway in the country since 2019,” said the minister. – Xinhua
