NEW: Angry wife pours hot cooking oil on hubby

A MAN escaped death by a whisker after his wife poured him with hot cooking oil, during a marital dispute. 

The incident happened at Mbalabala over the weekend and the husband is admitted at Esigodini Hospital. 

National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident and the arrest of the wife, who has been identified as Yvonne Muunganirwa (36). 

“ZRP Esigodini arrested Yvonne Muunganirwa (36) for attempted murder after she splashed hot cooking oil on her husband Tapiwa Muunganirwa (43) at Mbalabala in Esigodini after a misunderstanding,” Assistant Commissioner Nyathi said. 

In another case, a 51-year-old man from Lupane, Jani Ngwenya was also arrested for attempted murder after he attacked a neighbour, Mr Faro Nyathi (56) with an axe twice on the head and once on the palm after a misunderstanding over cattle that had strayed into his field at Holomoka Village in the district 

Meanwhile, Assistant Commissoner Nyathi said police in Nkayi are looking for Mashudu Nguluve in connection with a case of attempted murder, in which he attacked Petros Munyai (27) and Lawrence Munyai (33) with an empty bottle and an okapi knife after a misunderstanding during a beer drink.
