BUDDING Afro-jazz musician Blessed Kudzai Shayamano has released his debut 10-track album titled “Mavambo”.

The musician, better known as Kudzie Kayz, collaborated with five artistes, including Kean Marshal and Royce Simunga from South Africa and Zambia, respectively.

He told The Sunday Mail Online that the album was inspired by real-life issues.

“I am always in touch with what happens in the community. Thus, this album addresses some of the issues,” he said.

“I hope the messages in it will promote change, especially with regards to gender-based violence (GBV). Most people believe it is only women that should talk about GBV, but as a man I am think it is also my duty to tackle the issue.”

The album also tackles issues such as early marriage and rape.

Kudzie Kayz, who is a music teacher at Warren Park 4 Primary School, says he has a gig lined up for Rwanda.
