Police in Bulawayo have arrested three men who allegedly killed a 37-year-old man after accusing him of stealing a portable speaker box.
Tonderai Doka died at Mpilo Hospital after he was allegedly assaulted by Simon Tapera (39), Norman Tapera (30) and Petros Dhliwayo (34) on January 31.
In a statement on Monday, police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the deceased was assaulted at Entumbane complex.
“The suspects allegedly assaulted Tonderai Doka (37) on allegations of theft of a box speaker from one of the suspects and handcuffed the victim before escorting him to ZRP Entumbane,” he said.
“Upon arrival at the police station, the victim, who was seriously injured, was referred to Mpilo Hospital where he succumbed to the injuries.”
