The Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) has reaffirmed its support for President Mnangagwa, urging citizens to disregard calls for civil unrest as these are being made by rogue elements seeking to destabilise the country.
Addressing a Press conference in Masvingo today, ZNLWVA national chairperson Cde Cephas Ncube said those calling for demonstrations on March 31 are seeking to sabotage the country.
ZNLWVA national executive members and provincial chairpersons attended the Press conference.
“As war veterans, we want to make it clear that we fully support our patron, President Mnangagwa, who is the Zanu PF First Secretary, Head of Government and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces,” said Cde Ncube.
He said forces behind the calls for public unrest are seeking to disrupt peace, stability, and economic progress.
“Those calling for demonstrations on March 31 seek to sabotage our economy, peace and development,” he said.
“We urge Zimbabweans to ignore the rogue elements’ rantings and to continue with their businesses as usual. Work for your families and do not be misled by people with nefarious agendas.”
ZNLWVA provincial chairpersons also expressed their unwavering support for President Mnangagwa, dismissing the planned demonstrations as the work of the country’s detractors.
