NEW: ‘Businesses should plough back’

Online Reporter

BUSINESSES should be the drivers of rapid transformation and growth in rural communities, through ploughing back.

This was said by Mberengwa South businessperson, Mr Samson Ncube, during a media tour of several projects he is funding in the constituency.

Mr Ncube is funding construction of clinics, dip tanks and rehabilitation of schools, among other initiatives.

“I grew up in a poor family and we would travel for more than 10km to access health facilities, schools and boreholes,” he said.

“I realised it was important to give back to the community, so that people can easily access services nearby.”

A beneficiary from some of the projects, Mr Elfanos Dube, said:

“We are grateful for what this man is doing for this community, because for about 59 years, we have been travelling more than 10km to access dip tanks for our livestock.

“Some cattle have been dying from tick-borne diseases, because most villagers are old and cannot walk long distances.”
