THE Civil Registry Department has announced the temporary closure of its Chegutu office following damage caused by a recent storm.

In a statement, the department made assurances that essential services will still be available at the Chegutu Hospital sub-office.

However, residents are advised to visit the Norton sub-office or the Kadoma district office to obtain birth certificates, death certificates and national identity documents.

“The Chegutu Hospital sub-office will continue to facilitate the issuance of burial orders,” reads the statement.

“Although the office is currently inaccessible, we remain committed to serving the public. Urgent cases will still be attended to.”
