MUTARE City Council’s recapitalisation efforts are bearing fruit following the acquisition of a pneumatic roller as the local authority moves to repair and improve the city’s road network.
Confirming the development, City of Mutare spokesperson Mr Spren Mutiwi said the latest acquisition will be instrumental in compaction for both tarred and dust roads.
“City of Mutare’s recapitalisation programme of acquiring plant and equipment to attend to the road network across the city is ongoing and paying dividends. This follows the arrival of the pneumatic roller after we recently procured a grader.
“We are scaling up our drive in retooling the key equipment to enable us provide effective and efficient service, especially in improving the city’ road network,” said Mr Mutiwi.
He added that the local authority is expecting to procure more machinery and equipment as it steps up efforts to rehabilitate infrastructure in the city.
