THE Civil Registry Department will next month embark on a three-month blitz, aimed at ensuring all citizens have access to primary documents.
The blitz will commence on April 1, and is expected to benefit at least two million Zimbabweans without national identification cards (IDs) and birth certificates.
Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage permanent secretary, Mr Aaron Nhepera, said resource mobilisation for the national blitz has already started.
“Our plan is to give at least two million people across the country. We have been allocated some funds by Treasury, which will be in local and foreign currency.
“We have some components that need foreign currency and local currency will be used on things like logistics and mobilisation of people,” he said.
