NEW: Covid-19 booster shots inch towards 1 million

ZIMBABWE’S Covid-19 booster-shot vaccination blitz continues to gain steam, with 847 906 doses having been administered to date, latest official figures show.

Data from the Ministry of Health and Child Care also indicates that as at June 16, 2022, 847 000 people had received the third booster shot.

Meanwhile 6,2 million first doses of the Covid-19 vaccines have been administered so far.

Of that total, 4,5 million Zimbabweans have received their second dose.

Zimbabwe’s Covid-19 vaccination programme is rated among the best on the continent.

Government has come up with monthly vaccination targets for each province as it seeks to ramp up the inoculations.
