NEW: Covid-19 forces temporary closure of ZEC offices

THE Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) will temporarily close its offices across the country from December 11 to December 19, as a measure to contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

In a press statement on Friday, ZEC said:

“This is a measure to contain the spread of the Covid -19 virus among internal and external stakeholders.

“During this period, the Commission will fumigate its offices, do contact tracing and testing of staff members.”

The Commission said all members of staff will be working remotely from their homes save for those dealing with critical issues.
