New cycling club seeks sponsors

BULAWAYO-based Kylow Cycling Club is appealing to well wishers to fund their newly established project as they were having financial difficulties getting it off the ground. Founder member Kelvin Lunga said love for the sport inspired him to start his own cycling club but lack of sponsorship was hampering the project.

“I have had chances to go oversees and ride there, but I have decided to promote the sport in Zimbabwe first, so I started a cycling club but funds are a hindrance to my dream.

“I am looking for sponsorship to get the project off the ground, somewhere around $9 000,” he said.
He said they need to buy 10 bikes, 10 kits for the club, shoes, helmet, gloves and back-up car for the club.

“We just need a boost in any form of equipment, we also want to register the club so that it becomes formal,” said Lunga.
Lunga said they intend to lease the bikes to other riders so that they generate money to boost their coffers as well.
