Gweru-based hip-hop dancer Tanaka Jose Sakala, who is set to represent Zimbabwe at the International Dance Organisation competition, is appealing for sponsorship to attend the event, which will be held in Poland in May.

Known by the stage name “Tanaka Glitch”, the 22-year-old is confident of scooping the US$20 000 prize money.

“If I travel to Poland, I will definitely win the big prize,” he said.

“I will use the money to set up a dance academy that will help disadvantaged youths realise their dreams.”

A well-wisher has already pledged to meet part of the travelling costs.
