NEW: Drug peddler caught with 58 rods of dagga

A drug peddler has been arrested after he was found with 58 rods of dagga in Harare’s central business district (CBD).

The arrest is part of the ongoing police operation against drug and substance abuse.

In a statement on Tuesday, national police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the suspect, Kelvin Kembo (26) was nabbed on Monday after he was spotted peddling drugs in the CBD.

“On March 20, 2023, Police in Harare acted on a tip-off and arrested Kelvin Kembo (26) for selling dagga at Corner Cameroon Street and Charter Road, Harare,” reads the statement.

“Police recovered 58 twists of prepared dagga stashed in cigarette boxes.”
