BUDGET airline Fastjet Zimbabwe has introduced two new routes as part of efforts to boost domestic tourism.

The routes connect Harare and Kariba, as well as Harare and Hwange.

Fastjet Zimbabwe chief commercial officer Mrs Vivian Ruwuya said the initiative shows the airline’s commitment to the country’s tourism and aviation development.

“Today is a momentous occasion for Fastjet. The successful landing of flight FN6201 from Harare to Kariba is part of our joint official launches of flights to Kariba and Hwange National Park,” she said.

“The launch of these two new routes once again demonstrates our commitment to connectivity and development of aviation in Zimbabwe and the region.”

Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) chief executive officer Ms Winnie Muchanyuka said the new routes will drive the revival of Kariba as a tourism destination.

“As ZTA, we are happy because we know the development is going to boost domestic tourism,” she said.

“It will also drive the recovery of Kariba by bringing it back to its glory.”
