The Funeral Directors Association of Zimbabwe (FUDAZ) has issued a statement distancing the organization from the ongoing drug saga involving Claremont Funeral Service.

In an interview with The Sunday Mail on Tuesday, FUDAZ national secretary general Mr Muziwakhe Banda clarified that their organisation has no involvement in the drug trafficking activities associated with Claremont Funeral Services.

“As FUDAZ, we want to clear our name in the drug trafficking scandal by Claremont because we are not involved in any of that.

“Our services are purely business, we strictly follow protocol and do not run any illegal operations. Hence, we are not part of any of that,” he said.

Mr Banda also highlighted that the pictures circulating on social media include a number plate that indicates the the funeral service is not registered in Zimbabwe despite having branches in the country.

“The number plate of the van shown in the pictures indicates that the Funeral Service is not from Zimbabwe. Thus, as the Association of Zimbabwe, we do not have any hand in it,” he said.
