THE Victoria Falls Anti-Poaching Unit (VFAPU) will host its annual fundraising golf day on September 27 in Harare.

This year’s event coincides with World Tourism Day, highlighting the connection between conservation and tourism.

The golf day will feature 128 players competing to support VFAPU’s efforts to combat poaching and preserve wildlife in Victoria Falls.

This year’s event holds special significance as it will be the 25th anniversary since VFAPU’s formation.

Ross Kennedy, director of Africa Albida Tourism, emphasised the importance of the event.

“This golf day showcases the synergy between tourism and conservation. Our commitment to protecting wildlife remains strong and the support we receive allows VFAPU to continue its essential work,” he said.

Wildlife Conservation Coalition general manager Nathan Webb highlighted the need for continued support to ensure the future of Victoria Falls’ biodiversity.

The fundraising golf day offers participants the opportunity to contribute to wildlife conservation while enjoying a day of golf.

The occasion will include lunch and drinks, with all proceeds going to VFAPU.

Since its inception, VFAPU has made significant strides in combating poaching, rescuing wildlife and working with Government agencies.

The unit relies solely on donations to fund its operations
