GOSPEL artistes Tatenda Mahachi and Michael Mahendere have been nominated for the ‘Best of Africa’ category of the prestigious SABC Crown Gospel Awards.

Mahachi was nominated for his collaboration with South African gospel musician Winnie Mashaba on the song titled “A Friend”.

The musician paid tribute to the late Dr Oliver Mtukudzi.

“I am so excited about this nomination and grateful to God for choosing me to minister his work.

“Being nominated for the biggest African gospel awards is the best thing that can happen. The nomination means a lot to my ministry and career,” Mahachi said.

He said he was inspired by the late Sfiso Ncwane, who introduced him to the South African gospel scene.

The duo did a collaboration titled “Ndinoda Jesu” in 2015.
“The nomination means that our message is reaching and positively impacting a much bigger market, which is outside our physical reach.”
