NEW: Govt accelerates Vitamin A supplement programme

THE Nutrition Department in the Ministry of Health and Child Care says it has embarked on an enhanced community vitamin and mineral supplements for children in a move aimed at improving child health in the country.

Through their official Twitter handle, the Ministry of Health and Child Care said they are working with United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) Zimbabwe and Nutrition International on the programme.

“MoHCC Nutrition Department is currently implementing an accelerated Community Vitamin A Supplement to boost the immune system in partnership with Nutrition International and Unicef Zimbabwe,” reads part of the communique.

The programme is running up to April 30, 2022.
