At least 1 045 institutions across the country have been connected to the internet, as Government continues to close the digital divide between urban and rural areas.
The implementation of these projects is expected to improve the country’s e-governance system.
Addressing Tuesday’s post-Cabinet briefing, acting Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister, Dr Jenfan Muswere, said the initiative is covering all 10 provinces.
“To bridge the digital divide between urban and rural areas, 914 schools, 105 health institutions and 26 vocational training centres were connected to the internet.
“ICT laboratories and 31 community information centres were established across the country’s 10 provinces,” he said.
