A Harare man dragged his sister-in-law to court alleging that she assaulted him, accusing him of meddling in her troubled marriage.

Mr Bothwell Muronda made the allegations at the Harare Civil Court on Thursday.

The 55-year-old man told the court that his sister-in-law Mrs Debra Ncube assaulted him many times.

“She assaulted me when I wanted to help her find my brother. She claims that I know where her husband is hiding and that I influenced him to leave her,” he said.

Mrs Ncube (52) did not deny the claims, but argued that she could not fight Muronda due to her medical condition.

“l suffered from a stroke, so my right hand does not have the power to assault him as he alleges. He knows my husband’s whereabouts because he even insulted me saying that I am the one who led to the disappearance of my husband,” she said.

She also said that Muronda is the one who made his husband refuse to stay with her.

Presiding magistrate, Ms Meenal Narotam ordered Mrs Ncube not to assault Mr Muronda and to live in peace.
