VETERAN musician, Hosiah Chipanga, says he is now ready to take his political career to the next level.
The controversial singer recently formed his own political party called Patriotic Zimbabwe, after he announced that he was officially quitting music.
Speaking in an interview with The Sunday Mail, the 70-year-old singer said he has had his day in music and now wants to explore fresh avenues.
“I now want to focus on politics and make sure that my party grows. I have what it takes to be a good leader,’’ he reckons.
Chipanga is hoping for a smooth transition.
“I have many fans in music and it is possible for them to follow me to politics. Also, I’m more popular than many politicians who are already in the game,’’ boasted Chipanga.
“I have always wanted to be a politician from childhood. This is not an overnight decision and I’m ready to take part in next year’s harmonised elections.’’
