A 23-YEAR-OLD male inmate at Mutare Farm Prison appeared in court recently charged with aggravated indecent assault.
Blessing Parisai pleaded guilty to forcing himself on another inmate, David Nyamombe at the correctional facility.
Mutare magistrate, Ms Rumbidzai Kabasa presided over the case.
Prosecutor, Ms Tafadzwa Chiwanza told the court that some time last year, the accused hatched a plan to abuse his cellmate.
“Parisai hid the complainant’s epilepsy medication in order to take advantage of the latter’s condition. Nyamombe was woken up at night by the accused’s suspicious movements, only to find out that he had joined him into the blankets with the purpose of abusing him,” said Ms Chiwanza.
The complainant then screamed for help, prompting the accused to abandon the act.
The case was adjourned to March 24.
