NEW: JBC and UZ Sparks the teams to beat

Online Reporter

JBC and UZ Sparks are the teams to beat in the Harare Basketball Association (HBA) Super 6 League.

This comes after the duo put up dominant performances for the seventh straight week to keep their perfect records intact, heading into the final round of games before the league breaks for the holidays.

UZ Sparks outlasted Bunnies 50-47 this past weekend, and currently lead the women’s log standings with 14 points from seven games.

Second-placed JBC beat struggling Harare City Hornets, while the resurgent Vixens made it four wins in four games courtesy of a 47-39 victory over bottom-placed Greenstars.

In the men’s category, JBC kept their perfect start to the campaign intact, as they made light work of UZ Stars 83-44, while second-placed Bucs narrowly beat the reigning champions, Foxes 82-79.

In the other men’s game, Leopards Academy went down 58-72 to Harare City Hornets.

By the time of publication, the HBA was yet to release the next round of fixtures, with action set to resume on Thursday (Unity Day).

The league is expected to take a three-week break after the Unity Day games.
