NEW: JBC march towards inaugural Super 6 title

ANOTHER week and another victory.

That was the main story that came out of Sunday’s Harare Basketball Association (HBA) Super 6 action, as Addison Chiware’s JBC outfit registered their 16th victory of the campaign.

They beat Foxes 66-62 at the City Sports Centre.

The victory saw JBC go eight points clear at the top of the men’s log standings.

They now have a perfect record of 32 points from 16 matches.

Leopards Academy beat UZ Stars 75-67 and are second with 24 points from the same number of games.

The two teams look to be safe, and barring any late drama during the final stretch, they should maintain their positions right up to the end.

It is a completely different case for the other four teams as the remaining four positions seem to change every passing week.

Bucs and Harare City Hornets are third and fourth, with the former making up ground courtesy of an 88-75 win over the weekend when the two teams met.

Both teams are on 23 points and are only separated by the score aggregate.

Foxes’ lose to JBC saw them stay rooted in fifth place with 21 points from 16 matches.

This means they currently occupy the play-off spot, while relegation-threatened UZ Stars anchor the log standings.

In the women’s category, defending champions Vixens (29) cemented their place at the apex of the long standings following a 63-47 win over fifth-placed Bunnies.

UZ Sparks are a point behind and beat third-placed JBC 64-44.

Greenstars, who anchor the log, went down 45-36 to Harare City Hornets.
